a. Where is your country located?

Germany is located in Central Europe, bordering the Baltic Sea and the North Sea, between the Netherlands and Poland, south of Denmark. They have a strategic location on North European Plain and along the entrance to the Baltic Sea.

b. What language/languages are spoken there?

The languages spoken are German 91.5%, Turkish 2.4%, other 6.1% (made up largely of Greek, Italian, Polish, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, and Spanish). The German is the official language.

c. What type of government do they have?

The kind of government they have is a Federal republic. The conventional long name of Germany is Federal Republic of Germany.

d. What religions are practiced there?

The principal religions practiced in Germany are Protestant 34%, Roman Catholic 34%, Muslim 3.7%, and other 28.3%.

e. What are the primary products?

Potatoes, wheat, barley, sugar beets, fruit, cabbages; cattle, pigs, poultry.

f. What type of money do they use?

The Germany´s currency is the Euro.

g. What is a major political/economic/social issue going on there today?

German President Horst Köhler, has resigned with immediate effect after criticism generated by their recent controversial comments about the German mission in Afghanistan, where he related the presence of the German army with the Germany’s economic Interest. Jens Böhrnsen will assume the interim leadership.

1. Dominance Solution for the topic.

The dominance solution for this topic can be a that the government choose the new president regardless the German people, the populations and it would be a “sacrifice” of one of the parts involved in the problem, also the spokesman or the president himself must explain what did he mean when he was talking about that topic because the media started criticizing him but he did not give any good explanation about he wanted to tell the people.

2. Reciprocity Solution.

The reciprocity solution would need of the cooperation of the both principal parts involved in this issue: The government and the media, first, I think the media must be carefully about what they publish, because it can be misunderstanding like this once and the president must be more clear on the way he explains what he mean. The solution consists in a deal that involves the both parts, the government and the media where before publishing information like that be sure about what they wanted to tell.
